Květná glassworks has symbolized quality and elegance for several decades. Their products are known not only for their offer of the widest range in Europe of 16 shades of coloured glass, but also their thin walls and, thanks to the titanium admixture, exceptional durability. Each and every piece is a handmade original.
Bohuslav Fuchs, one of the most significant architects and urbanists of inter-war Czechoslovakia, is tightly connected to Brno through his professional life. During 1916–1919, he studied at a special architecture school at the Academy of Fine Arts with J. Kotěra. He was a professor from 1938 at the Art School in Zlín, from 1945 until 1958 was a professor at the Brno University of Technology, and later was named a National Artist.
Aka, founded by Bohuslav Fuchs in 1932, was among the leading producers of designer articles in Czechoslovakia. Fuchs himself designed drink sets, vases, and bowls for the company, which were produced in the glassworks in Květná.
