The Zbrojovka Phenomenon
The publication The Zbrojovka Phenomenon, subtitled "Better Work, Better Life", presents life in Brno's Zbrojovka, primarily in the 1960s, 1970s and 1980s. It is based on a unique archive of photographs found by photographer Roman Franc.
The picture part of the book consists of a selection of about 80,000 negatives. It also contains texts by various authors who look at Zbrojovka from a historical, artistic or urban planning perspective. For example, photo theorist and curator Lucie L. Fišerová, sociologist Kateřina Nedbálková, screenwriter and writer Alena Kastnerová and publicist Martin Stöhr.
Nová Zbrojovka and the Brno City Museum together with TIC BRNO contributed to the publication of the title with the financial support of the Statutory City of Brno.
The book is in a Czech-English version.
